Location: Santa Cruz, CA
Downtown Santa Cruz is pretty charming, there is a lot of local loyalty here which you will see in home spun artisan clothing stores, local food and popular independent bookstores. One of our first dates was to Bookstore Santa Cruz (a Local favorite) and I think if Travis could make our house into a library he would do it. When I need a little time to introspect or be inspired I love spending taking a walk downtown and perusing one of the bookstores. Today I spent most of my time in the craft section---and ended up with a couple of books by Kari Chapin. One is called, "The Handmade Marketplace" which I spent some time reading today--it is all about how to sell crafts and is a great book for anyone wanting to dive into the work of selling handmade wares. The book had some great, practical insight as well as lots of inspiring advice from current crafting entrepreneurs. This would be a GREAT book for anyone who needs a little fire lit under their homemade crafting rear.
